Minimalist eating

Minimalist Eating

What does minimalist eating involve?

The idea behind minimalist eating is that you eat what you need: the foods your body needs and the optimal amount of them, no more and no less.

Minimalist eating means using food for what it is meant for: primarily fuel for our body, and secondary, as entertainment.

„The intention of voluntary simplicity is not to dogmatically live with less. It’s a more demanding intention of living with balance. This is a middle way that moves between the extremes of poverty and indulgence.”

Duane Elgin

Have you been searching for answers to these questions?

1. What foods do I have to eliminate?

We need food to fuel our body. However, we often use food as entertainment or a distraction. Optimal eating involves the use of fuel food to maintain the body. In addition, we acknowledge that food has an entertainment function in our society. But apart from these two functionalities of food, we teach eliminating food as a distraction.

2. How do I know how much food I need?

First of all, we clarify the goal we pursue. The goal may be for instance to lose weight, take back control, have more energy, or simply maintain weight. Next, the same way scientists research the optimal solutions for scientific problems, we research, make an assumption, test it, and adjust it as necessary until we get to our goal.

3. My promises to myself to eat less never work. Is there a solution?

With food readily available, minimalist eating requires self-discipline. Moreover, it also requires consistency since the mental muscle of discipline will weaken over time unless you are consistent. In addition, nothing will help you achieve your goals more than repeatedly doing the actions that lead to those goals.
But no worries!

I have self-discipline and consistency covered for you. Request access to the Commitment, Self-Discipline, and Consistency Guide!

4. For whom do you recommend implementing minimalist eating patterns?

Minimalist eating is the best solution for you if you are ready to

  • Hone in with your body’s sensations and your emotions,
  • Trust your judgment and make decisions,
  • Stop using food as entertainment or distraction daily.

However, this eating style is not for you if you expect other people to tell you what to do.

5. Why should I care? What would I gain by implementing a minimalist eating style?

With sustainability in focus, resource efficiency has become a key priority all over the world. Minimalist eating provides for optimal use of resources at two levels.

  1. The food we eat in excess of our body’s needs gets wasted.
  2. Overeating is harmful to our health. Poor health requires more medical resources.

If you are a parent or want to be an example to your environment, you have to become a minimalist eater! The world is inevitably moving towards minimalist eating.

You can make a change.
